Media Research & Analytics

At the beginning of the semester, each group was tasked with working with a clients and finding ways to help with the clients needs.

The group I was in was tasked with helping the not-for-profit Climate Solutions Accelerator (CSA).

During this time, I was responsible for analyzing the social media data and showing the client what the data means. Over the course of the semester, I observed the various content that CSA made to date. I was able to find a pattern of the content types that CSA's audience likes to see and what they do not.

The white paper was created for our client. We presented our complete findings for our client with the intent that they would report their finding to the board and use our suggestions for improvement.

Throughout the semester, we learned how to use Excel sheets and Tableau from a data perspective. During this time, each student picked a topic that interested them, found data sets and wrote a journalistic-style blog post with data visualizations.

Originally I chose to research contraceptive use, and then the effectiveness of the contraceptive methods, for women of the reproductive age all over the world; however, there was not enough data available to the public, so I broadened my topic to cover abortion laws.
